ANOLON® ADVANCED CUTLERY

So many knives....and not enough time to use them all! The pricing, as you may have noticed when shopping for quality kitchen knives, can be very daunting if you don't have a lot of disposable income.  If that is the case, then you just have to take a look at the Anolon Advanced Cutlery collection!

Anolon Advanced also offers two styles of sharpeners:

10-inch two stage Diamond Sharpener is designed in the form of a traditional honing steel and features a rough first stage surface of diamond-coated disks to use occasionally on your knives to sharpen straight or serrated-edged knives.
Universal Sharpener with a 3-stage Wet Stone: uses three different sets of progressively coarser ceramic steels inside a water chamber for honing blades after each use or to sharpen an overly dull knife.  The sturdy cover that sits atop the water chamber incorporates three guides that sit above each ceramic steel, ensuring that the knife is pulled through at the correct angle to obtain a sharp cutting edge on your knives.

The following are my favorite knives to have on hand for a multitude of cutting tasks and yes, you can add other Anolon Advanced Cutlery knives to your collection as your knife skills expand to knowing how to bone a chicken and other culinary tasks, but if you have only these four knives (and one pair of kitchen shears), you will be able to perform the most widely used knife skills such as chopping, slicing, dicing and paring/peeling.  All open stock Anolon knives come with a protective sheath for safe storage in a drawer.

8" Chef Knife - my favorite size of the most utilized knife of home cooks and professionals  - also available in 4-inch, 6-inch and 10-inch blade sizes. 
3˝" Parer - peeling is a breeze with this parer which acts as an extention of your hand when peeling an apple or trimming the stems off string beans. Actually, you may want to buy two of these.
9" Bread (serrated) Slices soft or crusty breads and delicate pastries such as croissants with ease. The serrated blade can also slice fresh tomatoes.
8" Slicer (with hollow ground edge) Slicing a turkey breast or baked ham into thin slices without tearing or shredding the meat is what this knife does best - also good at slicing a block of firm cheese.
6" Utility - the name says it all - a narrow blade that slices cleanly through a sandwich or anything else you need to slice through.
Forged Kitchen Shears - the curved shape with a serrated lower blade is helpful when cutting a chicken into parts - I'd have two of these on hand - one for cutting poultry and other raw meats and one for other kitchen cutting needs.
